This will be an interactive and informative workshop exploring how to support a friend who is grieving or facing a tough time.  It can often be hard to know what to say or do when you care about someone or if your friend is experiencing difficulties.

This time together will explore:
- How to support in ways that are useful for you and them
- What words / phrases are helpful and what not to say
- Tips, strategies and tools

This workshop will appeal to a wide range of people and be useful both personally and professionally.

Facilitator: Margaret Alve has worked in the area of loss, change, grief, palliative care, bereavement and spirituality for over 15 years. Margaret has experience working with children, youth, adults and families. She works part-time for Cancer Society Wellington Division as a counsellor and facilitator. She is on the faculty of Skylight, is a co-facilitator of the bereaved by suicide WAVES programme, volunteers as a co-facilitator of a bereaved parents group, Heartsong, and is a Professional Supervisor in her private practice.
