Visit Tawharanui Regional Park and enjoy the events and displays planned by Experiencing Marine Reserves (EMR), Department of Conservation, Auckland Council, TOSSI, Ngati Manuhiri and Forest and Bird’s Kermadec advocates.

A Community Snorkel Day where all equipment is provided and experienced snorkel guides are on hand to give you a special experience in the Tawharanui Marine Reserve.

Tawharanui Open Sanctuary Society (TOSSI) members will guide you through the Ecology Trail and update you on their work in the park.

Ngati Manuhiri will have their ‘Taonga on the Move’ art pod in the park; learn about the tikanga of flax, make your own putiputi (flax flower) and enjoy the artwork of the whanau in this cleverly converted container.

Forest and Bird advocates for the Kermadec Islands and Marine Reserve will be in the park with information about the bid to have the area become World Heritage listed.

Bring your Togs, towel, usual beach attire and something warm to pop on after your swim for the snorkel event; comfy walking shoes if planning to walk the park trails; water and your own lunch and snacks as there are none available in the park.

Bookings not taken. All these activities and displays are free, but donations to TOSSI and EMR are welcomed. If sea conditions are not safe for snorkeling there will be other activities for you to participate in, therefore there will be no cancellation announcements.
