If you would like to try out a new sport, this is the event for you!
Wellington Korfball is running a Have-a-go session aimed at new players.
We will take you though the basics of Korfball, with an emphasis on playing games and having fun.

These sessions are free for new players.
Bring court appropriate shoes.

What is Korfball?
- Korfball is a fast-paced, non contact sport from the same family as Netball and Basketball.
- A Korfball team is made up of eight players - four men and four women. You progress the ball by passing (like in netball), but the travel rules are looser allowing for running in shots (like layups in basketball).
- Each team is split evenly in to attack and defense. Attackers and defenders switch rolls after every two goals during the game. (This means you get to play both positions)
- An attacker can’t shoot if they are defended by an opposing player of the same gender. (So a team has to work together to get a player and the ball free)
- The post is 6 meters in from the back line, so you play all the way around the post. Not just in front of it.
