Museums Wellington brings you Twelve Days of Christmas this December in support of Women's Refuge and Te Whare Rokiroki. Over 12 days, you'll find a range of festive events at Carter Observatory, Museum of Wellington City & Sea, Colonial Cottage Museum and the Cable Car Museum.

Entry to all events is by koha and all proceeds go toward the Women's Refuge and Te Whare Rokiroki.

Koha per decoration

Come along to Colonial Cottage Museum to create some home-made Christmas decorations. A crafter will be available to show you the ropes on how to create the perfect decoration to hang on the tree at home.

Hear tales of Christmas past in Colonial Cottage Museum. Bring along the family and your favourite story too!

Have Yourself a Polish Little Christmas

Pop along on your lunch break to see how Polish communities celebrate their Wigilia (Christmas Eve). Tereska Lepionka-Carroll will take you through a traditional Wigilia. A great opportunity to create Christmas decorations and have a taste of Christmas goodies. - Yum!

The History and Flavour of Chocolate

With chocolate being a special occasion food item especially around Christmas, come and find out the history of this yummy treat as well as tasting different types of chocolate (from different regions and beans) during this delicious lunchtime talk. A talk and taste session presented by Rochelle of the Wellington Chocolate Factory.

Paint a Pot and Plant a Strawberry

A fascinating talk by Frank Andrews about the Star of Bethlehem, and December skies in the Southern Hemisphere. Join us for the talk with telescope viewings on the grass afterwards.
