Uku Rere: Nga Kaihanga Uku is the first major survey of the contemporary Māori ceramics movement in Aotearoa New Zealand. The exhibition features a selection of hand-built ceramic art works by five Māori clay artists: Baye Riddell, Manos Nathan, Colleen Urlich, Wi Taepa and Paerau Corneal. They are founding and senior members of Nga Kaihanga Uku, the national Māori clayworkers’ association. The exhibition was developed and toured by Pataka Art+Museum in collaboration with Toi Maori Aotearoa and with the generous support of Creative New Zealand.
