Upper Hutt entertains again!

It's 10 years since the last Rimutaka Trust "City of Song" family concert at Harcourt park and now after much popular public demand we are about to enjoy another one. These concerts have long been missed and provide a platform for our well loved, long established local talent as well as giving encouragement and experience to new performers. The date has been set for January 18th and the venue is Harcourt Park. This will be a ‘must do’ event. People are welcome to bring along a picnic dinner but also there will be food and drink stalls and glow sticks for sale.

The fantastic talent line up includes the newly crowned 'NZ's Got Talent' winner Renee Maurice, the Hitchcock Railway Band, the Southon Family, Harmony Lane, Eclipse, Shaun Preston, Lyn Tunnicliffe, Tiana So’oialo, the Steve Southon Band, Short Term Memory, Anita’s Dance Academy Troupe and The Ukulele Institute (Tui).

The entertaining Steve Joll and Kath Bier from The Breeze radio station are the MC’s for the event and special quest Rodney So’oiala is coming along and will kick out a couple of signed rugby balls and also assist with a major $2000 Bonus Bond prize draw.

Entry is by gold coin and the charity to benefit from the concert is Upper Hutt Community Rescue, and has been chosen because it is so close to the heart of our community, an organisation that we are so grateful to have. Upper Hutt Community Rescue will also be proactive with organising, collecting and support at the concert.

Helping to promote this event the local ANZ bank has generously donated $2000 of Bonus Bonds. There will be two $1000 Bonus Bond draws and the winner must be at the concert when drawn. Simply fill out the form in the Upper Hutt Leader or Hutt News and drop into either office or the Upper Hutt or Lower Hutt ANZ bank.
