Join our very own Kapa Haka group Kapa Kuru Pounamu for New Zealand’s first ever musical adventure – combining cultural treasures from East and West. Brought to you by one of Japan’s premiere percussionists, Wa San Bon will fuse gems out of our Māori heritage for an incredible new experience. Taioreore is a joint concert to share two stories from Japan and New Zealand. Watch in excitement as they present an entirely new story – one that has never been told before. Witness two traditions meet and interact as they bring an innovative show accompanied by Waiata, Haka, Poi, Taiaha, Dance, Folk Songs, Theatre, Shamisen (Japanese 3-string banjo) and Taiko (Japanese drums).

Act 1: Kapa Kuru Pounamu: The Story of Māui: How one of our most famous gods fished up Aotearoa with a giant hook.
Act 2: Wa San Bon: The Story of Izanagi and Izanami: How two gods created Japan by stirring sea of chaos by their sacred spear.
Act 3: The Genesis of a New Legend by Wa San Bon and Kapa Kuru Pounamu.
