Free entry – family event
Yes! The Annual Matariki event is here for all the whanau (family) to enjoy!
Matariki is a free community market-style festival that revives the Māori tradition of marking the passage of time and celebrating the Māori harvest within a modern context.
The event will have activities to encourage whanau to participate and spend time together where there is minimal costs involved. Some of the activities available on the day are to be free and have an educational flavour about Matariki and its historical importance to Maori and Pacific cultures.
