The New Zealand Netherlands Foundation is proud to be bringing the World Press Photo Exhibition 2014 back to Wellington, giving you the opportunity to experience the year’s finest photojournalism.

Open daily from 30 August to 21 September, this award-winning collection of the most powerful, poignant and inspiring press photographs from around the globe is a reflection of the human condition and the highs and lows of the past year. Thought-provoking, confronting and moving; this is an exhibition not to be missed.

The exhibition travels to 45 countries around the world throughout the year, and is seen by more than 2 million people in over a hundred different venues. Wellington is privileged to be a part of this international event.

World Press Photo is run as an independent, non-profit organization with its office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where World Press Photo was founded in 1955.

For over 56 years the World Press Photo contest has encouraged the highest standards in photojournalism. We strive to generate wide public interest in and appreciation for the work of photographers, and for the free exchange of information. We believe in the power of visual journalism to inspire and shape us.

World Press Photo receives support from the Dutch Postcode Lottery and is sponsored worldwide by Canon.
