This is a 5 day/night camp at MiCamp Whakamaru, 1105 Ongaroto Rd, Kinleith and designed for single parent families so they have quality family time and gain awesome family memories while mixing with other single parents walking in the same shoes. It doesn't matter if you are just starting to rebuild your identity and life and feel a mess or whether you are years ahead and have it all for something special happens when single parents get together and share experiences and you will be amazed.

All the children are sponsored or funded for so that families pay $30 a day/night and can stay as long or as little as they like.

The camp is on it's own island surrounded by the Waikato River and has all desired amenities for our large group - grand kitchen with plenty of storage, showers, etc.

Accommodation is either sharing a bunk-room with another family matched around children's sex and age, or your own tent, caravan, etc. Beware that children may rearrange rooms, lol, as they make friends.

Food is BYO and dinner is communal with everyone adding a plate or two. We do this to encourage experience sharing and use up food for we always take too much. Coffee, tea, sugar and milk powder is provided.

Activities are over 3 days and rotating in groups. They include abseiling, archery, rock climbing, flying fox, paintball, BMX, plus, plus. This too is funded.

We are there on Xmas Day which is good for families who don't have family in New Zealand or similar.

We spoke to Santa and he said he will not be delivering presents to camp and that we need to tell children they are waiting at home and can be opened before camp or the day after Xmas when we leave.
