As a standalone workshop or part of the Yoga Therapeutics series, this session is for those who experience some form of discomfort in the neck, shoulders or wrists, either in the course of daily life or in particular poses or types of yoga practice. This session is for you if you’ve got aches and pains, injuries that never came quite right, parts of the body that just don’t work like you want them to or tightness that never goes away.
This workshop will work gently and holistically to help you discern how to manage your neck and shoulder niggles within the context of your yoga practice. Often a few simple poses done mindfully on a consistent basis can make a world of difference to your daily comfort and ease in your body. Through our explorations in the workshop, you may also learn alternatives for poses that tend to aggravate your neck, shoulders and wrists. These alternatives will be useful in your own home practice and also in any of our Urban Yoga general classes.
The workshop is limited to 10 people and booking is essential. Participants will be offered discounted rates on private yoga sessions with Kelly Fisher in the three months following the workshop.
**Note: This workshop is not appropriate for those with current/recent/severe injuries or for those who require ongoing pain medication to manage discomfort. If you are being treated by a doctor, physiotherapist, osteopath or other health professional for your issue, it is advised to seek their approval before registering for the workshop. If you like, Kelly will be happy to discuss your situation with your health care provider directly in order to determine the suitability of the workshop(s). Email kelly@urbanyoga.co.nz or ring 021 889 048 to discuss.
