1995. A world before texting with no less subtext; with no Facebook but no less unfriending. Back when grunge was cool, and pop was bubblegum, and Toy Story came out (seriously). Where fashion was tartan, and midriff’d, and fluro. And sometimes double denim. Back where, before it was year 13, we called it seventh form.

13: The Soap is thirteen hours of theatre, with nine 80-minute episodes in a row starting at 10am Saturday morning and finishing late Saturday night. A whole school year’s worth of drama in just one day - will the senior students make it through their final year in one piece? Will their hearts? Will the teachers maintain their work/life balance and professionalism in the workplace? Or will all melodrama break loose? And most importantly - will our actors survive 13 hours in character?

Directed by Jennifer O'Sullivan and starring Christine Brooks, Rose Cann, Jed Davies, Lyndon Hood, Sam Irwin, Lori Leigh, Mary Little, Matt Powell, Steven Youngblood, Wiremu Tuhiwai, and guests... 13 hours of immersive, improvised theatre - come for the laughs, stay for the heart.
