Shoreside Theatre are proud to present a short season double bill of One act Plays, both written by women and both exploring human relationships and their flaws ….

The Rats Directed by Mags Delaney
Agatha Christie, the undisputed Queen of Crime stories, also wrote three one-act plays and collected them together under the title’ Rule of Three’. ‘The Rats’ is one of these plays, which although short in length, lacks none of Christie’s trademark tension and suspicion before hitting you with a twist …

Invited to a party in a London flat, adulterous couple Sandra and David find themselves alone. Somebody knows about their affair and somebody has locked them in.

A Number Directed by James Bell
Caryl Churchill, another prolific playwright, has been combining social commitment with theatrical experimentation to audiences for over 30 years.

In ‘A Number’ she invites the audience to explore the issue of human cloning through the relationships between a father and his three sons, two of whom are clones of the first, bringing into sharp focus the idea of what free will really is and the age old question of nature versus nurture.
