To enrol in this class you must be able to do the following:
Splits both ways
Front and back walkovers
Straight handstands held for at least 3 seconds
Great, straight, controlled slow cartwheels
One or all of the following: Back handspring (flick flack), Aerial (front or side),
Plank position held straight for 1 minute

The above moves demonstrates the strength and flexibility required for this advanced class.
Please note: This is a fast paced class and students are expected to practise at home daily so the appropriate progress is made. Numbers for this class are limited and students (& parents) need to commit to every practice and take the class seriously so the group advances at the pace they are capable of. This class is not for the half hearted or those that know they don't have the time (or self motivation) for extra practice.

Acro dance combines classical dance technique with acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character and its unique choreography which blends dance and acrobatics (think Cirque du Soleil!) Our aim is to get students in this class into good physical condition as acro dance is the most physically demanding dance style we offer. Therefore the emphasis will be on flexibility, strength, balance and endurance exercises. Time will also be spent on tumbling, leaps and partnered balancing exercises.

The timetable is subject to change and classes will only proceed if we have sufficient enrolments a week before the start date, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Refunds will apply for classes which do not proceed.
