Palmerston North City Library welcomes Naresh Kumar – Adventurer | Photographer | Engineer | Blogger

This quote inspires Naresh and keeps him pushing his limits and trying to accomplish challenges that he hasn't tried before. Naresh is an Indian national who grew up in the suburbs of Chennai and was on the downside of advantage. After graduating as an engineer he moved to US and worked as Consultant for top Silicon Valley companies.

Last year, he went on an epic journey covering 5,300km on foot through 5 countries and 3 continents. More recently Naresh ran/walked the length of NZ, along the Te Araroa trail, in Sandals. A feat that took him 87 days to cover 3098 km. He has run 63 marathons and ultramarathons ranging from 42 km to 500 km, several adventure runs in Sierra Nevada Mountains in California, Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, Annapurna Circuit Trek and Annapurna sanctuary in Nepal.

Naresh is writing his first book and planning to publish by the end of the year.

Naresh was the runner up of Wilderness Magazine’s Outdoor Hero of the year for 2014. Naresh is traveling across NZ for more adventures and will be traveling to France in August to ride Paris Brest Paris, a 1200 km bike ride in 90 hours.
