This fast-moving musical play of George Orwell's classic satire, adapted by Peter Hall, is fresh and immensely enjoyable without compromising the original material in the book. It has a large cast of farm animals played by adults and children. The play is faithful to the book using much of Orwell's original dialogue, with the addition of songs which add colour and humour to the play and help bring the story alive. "Four legs good, two legs bad" is the cry of the post-revolutionary animals. Mawer has used crutches for some of the larger animals to walk on four legs and will use simple masks to represent the animals. A great family show especially if your child is studying the book at school, but enjoyed by all.
