Ashtanga yoga is an athletic and dynamic practice which focuses on a specific sequence of postures.

It uses the technique of vinyasa to link the poses together in a flowing sequence of movements, all tied to the breath. The practice combines strength, flexibility and stamina so you leave the class feeling energized yet calm and relaxed.

Ashtanga for Beginners is appropriate for those completely new to yoga, however, be prepared to work up a bit of a sweat! Pre-enrolment is essential as class size is strictly limited.

Sarah Moyes is a local yoga teacher who gained a Yoga Alliance registered 200hr teaching certificate from the Auckland Yoga Academy. She will take you through a 1 hour and 15 minute led class using the Ashtanga Yoga primary series method.
