Join in the activities to celebrate Auckland 1866 during the weekend of 26-27 September.

Get behind the scenes
Take a peek behind the scenes of Auckland 1866 on the half hour from 11am till 2pm. Just meet by David Evitt's gun store.

Dress up Victorian style
We'll provide the costumes - and some curious Victorian characters - making for a heritage photo opportunity. You can even make some Victorian headgear to help you get in the mood.

Meet the locals
Come and meet Thomas Green, the bartender at Steer's hotel, and he will tell you some of the darker tales of Auckland in 1866. On the brighter side, there's Mary Jane Milne, Proprietor of M. and C. Milne. She'll keep you on the right track when it comes to what to wear and how to behave in Victorian Auckland.

Digital preservation
Learn about the virtual tour of the exhibition we're developing to preserve the display and its collections for future generations.

Go in the draw for fabulous prizes
And before you leave, don't forget to write down your favourite memories of the gallery and pop them in our post box. We'll post our favourite on our Facebook page, and there'll be prizes for the most fabulous ones.

Make some decoupage
Head to The Studio in Taku Tāmaki - Auckland Stories try your hand at some Victorian decoupage and make a stunning card for someone special (or just keep it for yourself). From 10am – 3pm, 24 and 25 September and 10am – 1pm 26 September.
