The historic Ports of Auckland Regatta turns 175 years old this Auckland Anniversary Weekend, and you can get close to the action with a special harbour sailing on Regatta Day. Climb on board the Maritime Museum's tall ship, Breeze, for the best view on the water of the hundreds of boats competing in different races. From dragon boats to harbour blasters, sloops to racing keelers, the Regatta attracts boats of all shapes, sizes and ages for an incredible visual spectacle.

And- for the first time ever, the tug boat race takes place inside the Waitemata Harbour so you can get a great view of these powerful vessels churning up a storm!

Breeze is a square-rigged brigantine - a traditional wooden sailing ship similar to vessels used for New Zealand coastal and inter-dominion trades in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Climbing aboard is an opportunity to experience what life was like for sailors on the trade ships of the 19th Century. You can get involved and help hoist the sails, find out more about the vessel from her knowledgeable crew, or simply sit back and enjoy the view.

There are only 12 places on board and your ticket includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and beverages. So come and make a day of it!

Suitable for adults and children over 12 years old.
