Hear about the first Maori settlements in the area, the arrival of Europeans, the forest clearings, the timber days, and the formation of small farmlets accessed by boat from Onehunga to the Little Muddy Landing. What was life like for the Bishops, founder family of Titirangi, in the 19th century? We follow the family to the 20th century, their sorrows in the First World War, and their achievements. Hear about Henry Atkinson, whose statue stands outside Lopdell House, his part in the building of Auckland’s water system, and his donations of park areas around Titirangi from local historians Bruce and Trixie Harvey.

If we know our past we understand the present better.

Entry by koha. Seating strictly limited - get there early!
Hosted by Titirangi Ratepayers and Residents Association.
