Pūtahitanga, which means "a confluence of two streams", features unique documents and rare books held in the Sir George Grey Special Collections at Central City Library.
It focuses on the interaction of Māori and Pakeha through the early contact period in Northland, the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in February 1840, the establishment of the capital in Auckland on 18 September 1840 and the arrival of the first migrant ships in 1842.

This exhibition is opened on 2 July and continues through the Heritage Festival, weekdays 9am-5pm, weekends 10am-4pm. The exhibition closes on 18 October.
