Bring all the family to celebrate the new Year of the Goat (also known as the Year of the Sheep) at Auckland's 16th annual Lantern Festival from Thursday February 26 - Sunday March 1. The 2015 Lantern Festival is set to be the biggest and brightest yet!

If you want to just enjoy the lanterns without the crowds, come and relax at the SKYCITY Jade Dragon lanterns-only night on Thursday February 26.

From Friday to Sunday, visitors will be dazzled and entertained by more than 800 handmade Chinese feature lanterns, thrilling on-stage performances, traditional New Year festivities, Chinese art and more -- there's a range of activities for all ages. Choose from dozens of delicious Asian food stalls and picnic on the grass amidst the lanterns, all specially imported from China.

Non-stop entertainment on our main stage includes breath-taking martial arts performers from Shanghai and beautiful puppets from Guangzhou, as well as Beijing's popular easy listening reggae band, Long Shen Dao.

Highlights of Auckland's largest Chinese festival include:
-- The spectacular illumination of over 800 handmade feature lanterns
-- A street full of stalls selling delicious Asian delicacies and crafts
-- Lantern making and paper cutting demonstrations from Taiwan
-- Jinshan farmer painter demonstrations
-- Stunning on-stage performances by local and international artists
-- Grand finale fireworks display at 10.30pm on Sunday March 1
-- Theatre productions --The Two Farting Sisters and Under the Same Moon
