Kiwiburn is New Zealand's regional Burning Man event and this our pre-burn party to get excited about our next burn and support some artists to make some art.

It’s a picnic, though not in a park! We’re laying out a veritable smorgasbord of aural and visual delights for you to feast on. Held across both the Wine Cellar and Whammy Bar this is an evening not to be missed, there will be surprises around every corner. And everyone gets a goodie bag which includes a special and unique gift from each Art Project getting funded by this event’s proceeds.

We all love discovering art on the Paddock so let’s help make a bunch of artists' dreams a reality in 2016 by supporting their creative endeavours. Limited door sales on the night. There’s so much amazing talent in our first line up announcement! Drum roll please...

Three amazingly talented bands:
Shoutin' Preachin – Hip Hop / Brass Band
Makeshift Parachutes -–Psychedelic Rock
Psychedelic Spaceship – Psychedelic Rock

Four fabulous DJs:
DJ Bing (Dancealot)
Ferksta (AUM Productions)
CJ Funkowfield (Dancealot)
Dougy Martin

As with all Kiwiburn events we are encouraging you to participate! Dress up, bring some art, or get involved in some way! We will be putting out a call for volunteers to help greet people to the event and induct them in to our picnic.

Where will the money raised go? Art projects that will be receiving funding from this event:

Helping Hand by Nico Woodward - A large wooden installation.
Tea Cup Art Car by Jim Reeves and Andrew Benson - A flaming mobile tea cup.
The One v2.0 by Hippathy Valentine - Behold the One! An interactive art installation to die for.
The Paddock Lighthouse by Bing Crosby - Far from any ocean, the Paddock Lighthouse lights the way home.
Dancealot by Dancealot the good vibe tribe – The place to boogie both night and day.

Did you know a portion of your ticket each year goes to artists at Kiwiburn to help fund their art projects for the Paddock? As no applicant is ever fully funded, and some projects are a little ambitious, they need your support to help make their vision a reality.

And those amazing spaces you hang out and dance the night away in are gifted to you by lovely people who bust open their piggybanks and get together with friends to create Theme Camps to share with everyone. Kiwiburn doesn’t fund Theme Camps, not a cent. Nada. How about showing your appreciation for all they bring to the Paddock and come along to show your support.

All money raised will be given to artists and Theme Camps to help fund their projects for Kiwiburn 2016: Pot Luck and Emotion. If you are unable to make it on the night, you are able to donate by bank transfer to the Auckland Burners account: 38 9017 0000323 00. Please use “Picnic" as a reference.
