Many ancient civilisations used the heavenly bodies to track the passage of time. Māori also had a monthly calendar, the maramataka, which was used as a clock for agriculture and fishing. Dr Pauline Harris is a Research Fellow at Victoria University and of Rongomaiwahine and Ngāti Kahungunu descent. She is Chair of the Society of Māori Astronomy Research and Traditions and researches
Māori star lore and maramataka as well as extra-solar planets.

These lectures are free and open to the general public.
