Auckland Young Professionals is proud to announce an event like no other. If you thought economists were shy and retiring souls, then think again. Young economist, Shamubeel Eaqub is making a name for himself as one of New Zealand’s most irreverent commentators (you may have seen him drop the F-bomb on TVNZ’s Q+A, when discussing Winston Peter’s take on immigration policy). He is an experienced economist who makes economics easy, a thought leader unafraid to take a contrarian view. He is an engaging and knowledgeable speaker and a respected contributor to media, government and business sector discussions on economic and strategic matters.

His titles include “Growing Apart: Regional Prosperity in New Zealand”, and “Generation Rent”, co-authored with his wife.
Shamubeel will be discussing his take on the New Zealand economy, what New Zealand needs to do to remain competitive, and what millennials need to know to thrive in the modern world. This will be followed by a Q+A (keep the F-bombs to a minimum). This event is sure to be frank, insightful, and will challenge what you thought you knew about politics and the economy. No prisoners will be taken.

Drinks and nibbles will be provided.

Proudly supported by Craigs Investment Partners
