Get ready to shimmy, shake, bump & grind with all new burlesque, vaudeville and dance classes from Bambina Burlesque Academy!

Have you wanted to learn the art of burlesque, the ba-da-boom of comic timing, or the knack of characterisation? Have you dreamed of getting up on stage, surrounded by feather fans and rhinestones while sashaying your way to burlesque stardom? Or have you just wanted to learn how to move and accentuate your best bits in a fun and frivolous environment?

Bambina Burlesque Academy is directed and taught by Lilly Loca, one of New Zealand's prolific burlesque and vaudeville personas. Crowned the 'Queen of Burlesque' by the Herald on Sunday, she's best known for being a consummate mistress of disguise who is 'Putting the Va-Va-VOOM into Vaudeville'!

Level: Beginner/Intermediate
Duration: 1 hour for 6 weeks.
Cost: $120.00 incl. GST ($20.00 incl. GST per hour) A 10% deposit will be required upon acceptance into course.

Time: 6.30pm - 7.30pm
Class size: Limited to ten people only. Minimum four.

The perfect course to start you on your way to sparkly stardom! Suitable for beginners of any age and ability, you’ll learn about the art of the tease through six lessons which will teach you the following:

- The rich history of burlesque, along with the various different styles and inspirations.
- Love thyself - developing confidence in body image.
- How to accentuate and flaunt your best bits!
- Burlesque 101 - staple burlesque moves, glove peels and bowers.
- Props & Costumes (oh the sparkles!)
- Burlesque and You - how to develop your burlesque persona.
- Basic character and stage presence.
- Burlesque etiquette.

Attendees will need to bring along the following:
- 1x pair opera gloves
- 1x feather boa
- Notebook & pen
- Water bottle.

Uniform: Tight-fitting gym-style clothing OR burlesque attire (your choice!). Medium-High Heels/Ballroom-Latin Dance Heels essential.
