State of Mind

State Of Mind

Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, State of Mind are the duo of Stu Maxwell and Patrick Hawkins.

Since 2005 State of Mind have been notoriously prolific producers releasing on a broad spectrum of drum and bass labels. Material can be found on the shelves via CIA Recordings, Subtitles Records, Shogun Audio, Viper Recordings, 31 Records, Uprising, Bad Company, BSE & Obsessions, Project 51, Samurai, Non-Vogue and more.

Not happy being mere producers and djs, SOM Music was launched in 2009 and is now regarded as a premier niche label in its own right. SOM Music is home to cutting edge artists like Nymfo, Black Sun Empire, Neonlight, Jade, Telekinesis, Mindscape, Dose, Borderline, Gridlok, Cern just to name a few.

State Of Mind are the former hosts of the hugely popular 'Next Level" 95BFM drum n bass show. The show has now been relaunched in bi-monthly podcast format due to popular demand.

With a passport full of stamps, scorching hot exclusive selections and the technical skills to match, TREi is one of the leading lights of the New Zealand drum and bass scene. Internationally known as both a producer and a DJ, over the last seven years, TREi has made his mark, both at home and abroad, particularly across Europe, where he is fast becoming a favourite for those who know.

Based in Wellington, New Zealand, TREi's seamless mixing and anthemic productions have seen him linked to some of the finest d&b record labels, club nights, DJ's and producers on the planet. With the likes of Samurai Music, Commercial Suicide, Shogun Ltd, Uprising Recordings, Concord Dawn, Andy C, Klute, Friction and Black Sun Empire in the mix, in 2011, his presence is impossible to ignore.

With his musical roots lying in guitar, TREi recently dusted off the six-string to play as part of fellow New Zealand d&b icon's The Upbeats live show. Inspired by this new platform and his experiences performing internationally, TREi is on the verge of elevating into an exciting new creative echelon.

Current projects include collaborations with The Upbeats, Concord Dawn, Chris SU, Dose and emerging talent Johnny Hooves. In tandem, TREi is also finalizing releases on Viper Recordings, Uprising Records and working towards his second album.

Focused on making nightclub ceilings drip with sweat; and writing the tunes that we all party to, TREi is laser-etching himself into the history books; and future proofing drum and bass in the process. Hold tight.

The local Palmerston North phenomenon 'CODEBE' otherwise known as Ben Cody has been tearing up Palmerston's Drum & Bass scene since 2012. Played alongside acts such as Fred V & Graffix, Metrik, S.P.Y, Truth and The Upbeats.
