View endangered native bats feeding at dusk in Puketi Forest. This free conservation event is organised by the Northland Conservation Board. After a short BBQ meal and a talk about bats, we’ll walk about 400 m into the forest to observe the bats. Meet at 6:30 pm at the start of the Waiohanga Gorge Walk on Puketi Road. Bring a torch, and wear warm clothes and very clean boots to prevent the spread of kauri dieback disease. Please RSVP by text to Mita Harris on 027 5844332.
