Wellington’s annual Birdman event includes a hilarious competition to see who can make the most creative attempt at “flying” into the harbour off the wharf. Prize categories include recycling, whales, and creative costume. Everybody is welcome - the more creative the better.
There is also a Birdkidz competition at 11am with prizes for kids brave enough to jump, in costume, at water level into the harbour.
Birdman also features an extensive market, lots of food stalls, a kids’ activities area and rides, and two music stages. Our whole beautiful waterfront (weather permitting!) comes alive with fun activities for all ages and tastes.
