Proudly presented by ANZ, the Gay Auckland Business Association’s signature charity spectacular returns to the waterfront surrounds of the Hilton Auckland on Sunday 15 November 2015.

The annual GABA Charity Auction & Luncheon is the primary fundraiser for the GABA Charitable Trust, which has distributed LGBTI community grants and scholarships now amounting to almost $300,000 across the last 15 years.

This year’s gala charity event is an auction-packed afternoon of fundraising, fine dining and maritime melodies, hosted by New Zealand’s own Olympic speed skater and international LGBTI advocate and speaker Blake Skjellerup.

An outstanding programme of live music includes a choral medley from GALS (Gay and Lesbian Singers), plus a performance by Pigeon & Bellfrog, the collaborative project of leading young New Zealand composers Claire Cowan and Alex Taylor.

The afternoon’s salty soundtrack will be selected and mixed by acclaimed composer and DJ Samuel Holloway.

GABA’s official auctioneer Michelle Maitland from George Walkers Auctions will be at the helm – ably assisted by none other than Mr Gay New Zealand Matt Fistonich and burlesque babe Miss Leda Petit.

This first class entertainment extravaganza will be topped off with a very special nautically-themed show starring the South Pacific’s prima divas of drag, Buckwheat, Tess Tickle and Chanel D’Vinci.

In addition to an Olympic master of ceremonies and a stellar live line-up, the glamorous occasion includes champagne on arrival and a superb three-course luncheon in the Hilton’s Aquamarine Room with its breathtaking views of the sparkling Waitemata Harbour.

GABA is currently requesting the donation of auction items, services and experiences. Donating to the GABA Charity Auction is a fun and philanthropic way to support and strengthen New Zealand’s LGBTI communities, through the respected community grant and scholarship programmes of the GABA Charitable Trust.

GABA is delighted to have ANZ onboard as the fundraiser’s principal sponsor, and grateful for the support of our associate partners at sgfleet, Grey Lynn Tyreworx, Cavendish Carpets, The Havannah Vanuatu, Love Your Condom, First Scene,, Express magazine, eikōn and The Eagle Bar.

Doors open at midday. Dining and Auction commence at 1.30pm. Cocktail attire.

Official After-Party from 6pm at The Eagle Bar on K’ Road.

Tickets must be booked by 5pm on Wednesday 11 November, as chef requires advance notification of final catering numbers.

If you’re unable to attend the live event, please donate generously online.
