Born and raised in Wellington, Flo Foxworthy has a life-long love of all things sparkling - particularly the glamorous costumes of Las Vegas showgirls. She was taught to sew by her mother at the age of seven, and turned her passion into a career making costumes for film, ballet, stage and risqué entertainers all over the world. Flo’s clients include many of the world’s most notorious burlesque performers, including pop icon Dita Von Teese. Flo was voted No.2 Burlesque Costumier (2013 and 2014) and No.3 Non-Performing Woman in Burlesque in the international Burlesque Top 50 lists. Since 2007 Flo has split her time between her own clients and Weta Workshop, where she has created SFX costumes for films including The Hobbit Trilogy, Mad Max - Fury Road, Avatar and The Amazing SpiderMan 2.

A selection of the gorgeous costumes Flo has created are on show at Te Manawa for one month only.
