The Chatham Community Focus Trust (CCFT) every year organises the festival for local people and visitors to the Island. Each year we are attracting more people locally and nationwide. This year will be our 7th Annual Festival. Performing at the Chatham Islands Festival 2015 are “The Noodles" Wellington's busiest professional cover band. Our children's performers are NZ's Ultimate Rotten Pirate Entertainers - Captain Festus Mc' Boyle Master of Music and Mischief... so the scene will be well and truly set for all of the annual Festival revelries I have planned for the day.

A very brief outline of the festival is as follows:
- Start at 11 am with a Karakia (prayer)
- Formal welcome by the Mayor
- Open the day with a performance from the local school children
- Visiting band begin playing and play throughout the day

Other Activities (example)
- Speed Shearing
- locals performing (talent quest or similar)
- Creative arts competitions
- A Visiting Children’s performer
- At least 20 food and art stalls, there are some exciting menu changes so we will be tasting some of the best of our fresh seasonal ingredients, with some strong flavour influences from the Chatham Islands itself . There is nothing like the scent of freshly cooked wild pork to conjure up our Festival taste buds! Paua Wontons, Pickled Weka. Watercress Soup, Crayfish Patties, Pipi curry mmmmmm!

Near to the end of the day we hold a Charity Auction with the proceeds going to an Island based charity or organisation. The Chatham Islands is a unique place with a great bunch of people and we have a real flare for fun and hospitality so come and join us .
