Chris Green returns to Nelson, with accompanist Thomas Martin Nikora, after strong critical acclaim in their recent 8 centre tour.

"A tour de force performance by Chris Green, who succeeds masterfully throughout the play" - Theatreview

"One man kiwi play is a kiwi classic...his singing is sublime" - Dominion Post

"One man show riveting. The charismatic Green was in top form throughout, prowling the stage with a wild-eyed energy" - The Timaru Courier

"Mervyn Thompson's soul-searing one-man play with music demands an actor who can hold an audiences undivided attention. Actor/singer Chris Green did exactly that." - Manawatu Evening Standard

Coaltown Blues is a moving and entertaining account of a young boy’s Depression and War years in a small West Coast mining town. It is both a lively and comical celebration and a wrenching lament for the working class roots from which iconic and controversial NZ author, Mervyn Thompson sprang.

Saturday Night Only!

Presented by Chris Green in association with Waimea College.
