A commemorative ceremony on the lawns of Parliament in recognition of the contributions of the Cook Islands Soldiers who enlisted in the New Zealand Army during World War One. The ceremony commemorates the first Cook Islands contingents arrival in Wellington in 1915 and their march to Parliament. The contingent was addressed by the the Maori Members of Parliament at the time - Apirana Ngata, Tame Parata, Tau Henare and the Speaker of the House Mr F.W. Lang at Parliament.
