Didgeridoo Demo Session @ Soundworks Music School

Sunday 21st June 2015 : 2.00PM – 3.00pm

Palmerston North artist and retired journalist Raymond Watchman brings his passion for didgeridoo to Soundworks Music School with the aim of helping other people enjoy the experience of learning to play the world’s oldest woodwind instrument.

Raymond’s background in music lies primarily in classical singing. Trained as a bass-baritone, he performed professionally for four seasons with the original New Zealand Opera Company during the 1960s, has sung with various choirs and operatic societies, and been a music reviewer for local publications.

Did You Know? Aside from the sheer joy of creating music, medical studies indicate playing the didgeridoo can have respiratory health benefits, including the alleviation of sleep apnoea and snoring. Learn lots of other interesting facts about the Didgeridoo which you can learn about when you enrol for lessons with Raymond held at Soundworks Music School.

Come join us for an afternoon demonstration session on the Sunday 21st June at 2.00pm. Soundworks will be offering Didgeridoo lessons with Ray in Term 3, so this will be a great opportunity to find out what a didgeridoo sounds and feels like, what’s involved in playing it, and watch Ray’s amazing performance on his didgeridoo at Soundworks Music School, located on the corner of Fitzherbert Avenue and College Street!
