Displaced by war, famine and collapsing societies, the tide of human beings hoping for a better life elsewhere are often cheated of that goal. Wallace Chapman of Radio NZ National leads the discussion

Refugees and asylum seekers are once again at the forefront of our news. Displaced by war, famine and collapsing societies, the tide of human beings hoping for a better life elsewhere are often cheated of that goal.

British journalist Christina Lamb has seen the displacement of millions of Afghanis during her more than 25 years covering that country, while New Zealand journalist Tracey Barnett has reported from the Thai-Burma border and Sydney’s refugee detention centre. Since 2013 she has been campaigning for a change to this country’s asylum law. Lamb and Barnett are in conversation with Wallace Chapman (Radio NZ National).

*TECT Earlybird offer ends 7 October
