What are the creative benefits of integrating science with art in education? New Zealand film-maker and US film school chair Bruce Sheridan uses recent research to provide the answer.

Bruce draws from neuroscience and cognitive psychology to show that the same capacities underpin our science and art abilities, allowing them to benefit from each other. He argues that as technologies replace many human skills, the important contributions of future graduates will be creative.

Bruce Sheridan

Bruce is chair of the largest US film school, Cinema Art + Science at Columbia College, Chicago. He began his film career in New Zealand as a director and producer. His credits include Perfectly Frank, Spellbound, Lawless, and Head Games.

The Creative Thinking Project

Bruce is talking to audiences around New Zealand as a Creative Fellow of The Creative Thinking Project. Based at the University of Auckland, the initiative promotes creativity for community well-being and development.
