The Miramar Events Trust is proud to present this workshop for emerging filmmakers, silver screen enthusiasts and anyone interested in learning about the creative filmmaking process.
Come and enjoy and afternoon with three of New Zealand’s cinematic mavericks as they share, divulge tales from the deep, talk through their own creative inspirations and impart some of lessons they have learned along the way. The team from the NZ Film Commission will also be joining us and will provide some tips and advise about funding applications.

Director Christian Rivers in collaboration with Producer Mhairead Connor will screen their short film Feeder followed by a Q&A. They will talk through the creative process of putting Feeder together.

Liz Mullane will talk about ‘understanding the vision of the Director’ – how to best translate this into what characteristics you look for in an actor and what are the most challenging roles to fill.

Miranda Harcourt will bring her expert knowledge and experience of coaching and preparing actors for the film and stage.

This workshop is designed to provide an opportunity to share ideas and discuss challenges with some experienced members of the industry in a relaxed and social environment.
We would like as much audience participation with the panel as possible, so please come prepared with some questions to ask.
