The 'Feather & Fin' Conservation Series consists of 3 talks, 3 walks plus associated displays (including Paint the Peninsula Purple) and art exhibitions, hosted by the Hibiscus Coast Forest & Bird Branch and the Estuary Arts Centre, Orewa.
Walk 1: Explore the Beauty of Alice Eaves Bush Reserve with Philip Wrigley, Forest & Bird
Join Philip Wrigley for a guided walk around Alice Eaves Scenic Reserve, known colloquially as "Eaves Bush", is 16ha forest located at the northern end of Orewa. The reserve includes kauri trees as old as 300 years. In addition, the bush contains native trees such as Tōtara, Mataī, Kahikatea, Puriri, Rātā, Karaka, Rimu, Rewarewa, Nikau and Taraire. A number of these trees can be identified by labels along the walkway.
Philip is passionate about the fauna and flora of New Zealand, not only a committee member of the Hibiscus Coast Forest & Bird but also an active member of the Eaves Bush Appreciation Group.
