Christina Lamb returns to Tauranga and talks about her 25 years reporting from Afghanistan, Pakistan and her passion for those stories of survival.

Christina Lamb, who has been reporting on Afghanistan for more than 25 years, offers a final analysis in her new book published earlier this year. Farewell Kabul: From Afghanistan to a More Dangerous World is a personal account of the longest war ever fought by the US, and one of the longest fought by the UK. How did a group of religious students and farmers defeat the might of NATO, with 48 countries and 140,000 troops on the ground?

Lamb, who was awarded an OBE in 2013, is in conversation with Wallace Chapman (Radio NZ National).

*TECT Earlybird offer ends 7 October
Day Passes - Entry to all writers sessions on day purchased
