Learn the basics of filmmaking by writing a story, then shooting and editing your own short film. In this workshop you will try out the different roles involved in the collaborative filmmaking process including screenwriting, directing, camera operating, sound recording, acting and digital editing.

The aim of this one-day workshop is to get people excited and inspired to use the camera that they own, but don’t know how to. Practical topics will be presented in an easy to understand manner and through fun learning activities. Students will gain confidence in understanding digital photography, using their cameras effectively and ultimately learn how to create great photos. This workshop is open to teens and adults.

The aim of this workshop is to develop creativity and expression in photography. Through a series of exercises and discussion and by exploring the use of camera techniques and subject matter, participants will be stimulated with ideas to think and act upon to create meaningful photographs. This workshop is open to teens and adults.

Painting with Light: The Art of Motion Picture Cinematography with Super 8 // Adults 111

The year 2015 will mark the 50th anniversary of the advent of the Super 8 analogue motion picture film format. Initially designed to meet the needs of the amateur, it is now a popular format for professionals and artists who seek its unique look. In this hands-on workshop participants will direct, shoot and project one cartridge of black and white super 8 film, in the process learning the basics of the art of analogue cinematography.
