The morning starts with an interview with Gergely Madaras, conductor for the APO’s Clocks and Clouds concert. Fast gaining an international reputation as one of the most exciting European conductors of his generation, Gergely was appointed Music Director of the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne in 2013. In September 2014 he also took up the post of Chief Conductor of the Savaria Symphony Orchestra in his native Hungary. Upcoming orchestral highlights include his debuts with the Munich Chamber Orchestra, BBC Symphony, Janáček Philharmonic, Academy of Ancient Music and his North American debut with the Houston Symphony, as well as returns to the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra of the Teatro Regio in Turin. This will be Gergely’s Australasian debut conducting the Melbourne and Queensland Symphonies and the APO.

After the interview, Davyd Antipov, who won the Ronisch Auckland Secondary Schools Piano competition in 2014, will play for us and there will be a light luncheon.
