By tremendous popular demand, Te Manawa After Dark returns on Friday 13 November with Frightlight, a hair-raising journey into the darkest corners of the museum.

Beginning at 6:30pm, the evening will feature a multitude of activities, including clay head sculpting, shadow puppet making, storytelling, a scavenger hunt and more. Since we’re putting a New Zealand spin on the more familiar English and American traditions of this time, we encourage parents and children alike to dress up as taniwha.

Tickets are $5 per person. You can get them on the night, or pre-purchase from the Te Manawa front desk during opening hours. This is sure to be a popular event so we recommend pre-purchasing.

Due to the nature of Frightlight, it is recommended for children aged 6+. Everyone should bring a torch or stay close to a friend with one. If you have your UV torch from Sunlight – Ihi Kōmaru, bring that too!

A well-lit “safe haven” will be available in case things get a bit too spooky.

The night will wrap up at 8.30pm. If you have questions or enquiries about the event you can contact events@temanawa.co.nz
