In our ANZAC centenary year, Tauranga is proud to host Australia’s premiere legacy jazz act.

Galapagos Duck became well known in the Australian Jazz and music scene during the 1970s, when it was the house band at the emerging Jazz night club, 'The Basement', in Sydney. They’ve won national and international awards, played everywhere from Asia to America and Europe (including the famed Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland), and influenced generations of young musicians through their live performances, myriad of original compositions and TV appearances.

Since its early beginnings, Galapagos Duck is now the best known jazz band in Australia and is a crowd favourite at jazz festivals throughout the country.

These master musicians create a performance experience that – while jazz oriented – is able to be appreciated and enjoyed by everybody. An entertainment experience not to be missed!
