Your workshop choices are:

10am: Workshop 2 - Choose one of these three options:

2A: The Nukes
Headline act The Nukes will invite you to learn some of their originals. Skilled teachers who will have you playing chords up the neck - they are also a lot of fun.

2B: Basic Bass
Add something to the bottom end of your group’s sound. Bassist Rick Loos will initiate you into playing bass ukulele or guitar.

2C: Syncopation
Michael O’Reilly of Geraldine’s Waihi Roof Orchestra will teach you those syncopated strums made famous by George Formby and will lift your playing to the next level.

3.30pm: Workshop 3 - Choose one of these three options:

3A: Gypsy Jazz
Charlie McGee of the Formidable Vegetable Sound System offers an introduction to Gypsy Jazz, a style of playing made famous by the late Django Reinhart at ‘le Hot Club de Paris.

3B: Loop-a-Uke
Loop a Uke FVSS member and human sound-machine Mal Webb will introduce you to looping. You can turn your uke into an orchestra. Limited numbers.

3C: You Can Do It
Singer/songwriter Keith Lightfoot will help you gain more confidence in your ability to play, experiment and sing. ‘You may also realise (believe) that you can start writing basic songs.’

12noon-1.30pm: Ukes In Cafés
Enjoy live bands at some of Geraldine’s excellent eateries: Plums, The Country Café, Robbies Milk Bar, Four Peaks Café

2pm-3pm: The Big Strum - Free
A highlight of Ukefest Geraldine, Hugh & Fi lead a mass strum-a-long. Words and chords projected - loan ukes available

7.30pm Festival Concert - Cash bar available
