Give Well - Live Well!

Research shows a link between giving to others and improved happiness and wellbeing. Wellington City Council is encouraging you to share the love and pay-it-forward by purchasing a $3 Gym Jam class for one of these two local community groups who support Wellbeing in Wellington.

Visit Nairnville Recreation Centre between 5 October to 31 October, to donate a $3 Gym Jam pass.

Ngaio Plunket - We are New Zealand's largest provider of support services for the development, health and wellbeing of children under 5. At Ngaio Plunket our volunteers and staff run a range of services to support families such as well child checks, b 4 school checks, parenting education sessions, coffee mornings, toy library. We have an amazing team of volunteers who work very hard to support families in our local area by fundraising and providing appropriate services for their community.

Te Kōhanga Reo o Ngaio - Ka tipua te reo me tea o Māori. Through the 1990’s, Whānau of Te Kōhanga Reo o Ngaio have steadily built up the reputation of the Kōhanga which has resulted in increased services, and longer hours of operation. Local community groups have supported Kōhanga initiatives over the years, which have enabled our Kōhanga to become an established and respected part of the Ngaio community. One aim of the Kōhanga is to meet a vital need within the community in terms of offering the only immersion Māori early childhood education option.

This Wellington Wellbeing event supports Mental Health Awareness Week. This year's theme is “Give – your time, your words, your presence”, which is one of the Five Ways to Wellbeing.
