Hiraeth was created by Jesse Briton, Buddug James Jones and Max Mackintosh. With live music and welsh cakes, Hiraeth explores the decline of Welsh tradition and identity through one woman's struggle to escape and let go. Desperate to leave, Bud wrestles with the knowledge that her departure sounds the death knell for the family farm. Leaving five generations of tradition behind her as she sets out alone into the big smoke...

Hiraeth was one of the 2014 winners of the IdeasTap Underbelly Award.

The show is bilingual, mostly in English but we use Welsh too as Buddug is a fluent Welsh speaker.

Come along for this awesome play and support Theatre in the South Waikato!
