Returning by popular demand, the third annual Hoki-Fest, Hokianga’s Food and Wine Festival, is set to take place on Saturday 18th April at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Hokianga.

Spend the day sipping wines from local Northland wineries and indulging the taste buds on the water’s edge of Hokianga Harbour at Omapere with stunning views across the harbour.

Wild and wacky local cuisine will be on offer, including Kutai fritters, Paua in cream, Whitebait fritters, Maori Rewena bread and fried bread, smoked mullet, Oysters in hot chillies, raw fish, Hokianga salami and wild pork.

Musical performances by Northland’s very own Dann Pinkney and the Dire Straits Tribute show will keep toes tapping throughout the day and into the late afternoon.

The family-friendly event has a bouncy ship to keep the kids entertained and there will be local crafts on show and available for purchase, including Maori magic remedies, locally made soaps, corrugated iron steel and garden art and delicious cupcakes.

For those from out of town, make a weekend of it and explore the picturesque Hokianga area which boasts bush walks, sand dunes, fishing, golf, the mighty Tane Mahuta and more.
