Reggae fans, listen up! Anthony B (Jam) and House of Shem (NZ) are touring together for the first time on this Nimbin Roots Unity Tour. This is a unique opportunity to see two of the strongest live acts in contemporary reggae sharing a stage together. Both acts are currently touring and receiving rave reviews across Europe and the States.

Anthony B and House of Shem share a high energy, conscious sound. With lyrics exploring social and political issues of the poor and oppressed, they embody the message of unity and oneness in this world of excess and oppression. The shows will see House of Shem play a one hour set of their material - sweet, soulful vocal harmonies over powerful reggae basslines and rhythms. Then Anthony B will join House of Shem on stage, singing songs from his 20 plus albums, recorded since he exploded onto the international reggae scene in 1996. All shows will have a local support DJ.

Expect an inspirational evening of high energy, conscious vibrations. Songs with a message. A moment of unity and oneness in this mad, mad world.

Anthony B
Anthony B embodies all that it is spiritual and proactive about Reggae music. He has been steadfast in his mission to represent the poor and oppressed, using sharp lyrics to confront political injustices and bring the issues of the people to the forefront. He is recognised for changing the focus from ‘slack’ lyrics (songs about girls and guns), and instead focusing on words of spiritual consciousness and social conviction. To date, he has released over 20 albums, 1000 singles and appeared on well over 100 albums since he exploded onto the reggae scene in 1996.

His live shows are amongst the best you will see in contemporary reggae. His captivating, high energy style gets the crowd moving from the moment he walks on stage. His northern European tour in April 2015 received rave reviews, and he continues to sell out shows globally.

Anthony B's rich vocals and socially conscious lyrics carry a depth and substance which is rare in the industry. Internationally, his fan-base has grown because he speaks about the universal concerns of suffering and salvation. "The greatest thing about reggae music is that it's about concepts and ideas," says Anthony, "you are speaking to people on issues they live and can relate to."

House of Shem
House Of Shem is an Aotearoa (New Zealand) based harmony trio comprised of Carl Perkins and his two sons Te Omeka Perkins and Isaiah Perkins who are each multi instrumentalist and producers. The live band will have additional members of the Perkins family on stage.

Formed 2005 in the rural area of Whanganui, the band embodies elements of roots reggae, pacific reggae and traditional Maori music. Their relatable song-writing connects powerfully with not only New Zealand and Australia audiences, but reggae listeners globally attracting fans from all areas of the world. Their style blends the uniquely powerful Aotearoa bass and drums sound with sweet, soulful male vocal harmony.

Currently on a tour of the US, House of Shem are one of the must see contemporary reggae bands worldwide.
