Alice’ invites you to visit her favourite historic houses on this transport of delight and fancy.

The tour will lead you through the extremes of Victorian domestic circumstances, including early Settler Cottages - both original and meticulously restored - and grand residences. Notably we will visit a large farm 15 minutes from town. The ‘Big House’ (1880) and the original cottage (1865) have both been elegantly refurbished but retain their character. The large stone agricultural building has been adapted to offices, which are the hub of a thriving contemporary industry. Stroll the grounds and you may find Alice sitting reading under a tree by the lake, while her friends offer you refreshments from the conservatory. The scented parterre nearby is a sensual and photographic delight.

Back in town a further delight will be a Carpenter Gothic house (1890) which has recently been gracefully improved to display and make best use of the hosts’ inherited and collected Victorian treasures. Musicians will serenade you.

Come with us, we will lead you up the garden path.
Gather at the Last Post for prompt departure at 1pm.
Transport is provided and passengers will be returned to town at 4pm. If travelling privately, please notify when booking.
